Our Story
Wings for Learning began in 2020 with a simple, powerful mission: to meet the needs of students who learn differently. Born out of the passion of dedicated educators and the voices of parents searching for meaningful support, Wings was created to fill a gap in the Houston community—where students with unique learning profiles could thrive with understanding, encouragement, and expert guidance.

We work with school-age children who benefit from a more personalized approach to learning, offering high-quality, evidence-based interventions rooted in connection and compassion. Our team has experience supporting a broad range of learners, including those with learning differences, ADHD, autism spectrum disorder, anxiety, speech and language challenges, and executive functioning difficulties. Some of our students just need a different way in—a new path to help them rediscover their confidence and love of learning.

At Wings for Learning, every student is seen, heard, and valued. We collaborate closely with families, educators, and therapeutic teams to provide support that is not only individualized but deeply attuned to each child's strengths and needs. Our work goes beyond academics—we walk alongside families as they navigate the complexities of their child’s learning journey.

In 2022, we became a nonprofit to expand our reach and make our services more accessible to underserved communities. With the support of generous donors and partners, we are working to ensure that all children—regardless of background—have access to the tools, relationships, and resources they need to soar.

Our Mission
Wings for Learning provides individualized academic and social intervention and support to enable every student to recognize their strengths, advocate for themselves, and use functional strategies when needed. Students learn HOW to learn, not just what to learn
Our core values reflect our commitment to provide relevant and meaningful services that prepare and inspire students to make a difference in their communities. This commitment infuses all levels of the organization and provides the acronym for our name - W.I.N.G.S
Wondering
Our students have permission to be curious without needing to arrive at a correct answer. Our professionals provide experiences and opportunities that spark interest and lead students to ask questions and explore a topic.
Investigating
Our students think critically by researching topics from all angles. They are encouraged to analyze experiences, books, articles, interviews, and pictures while also making connections to background knowledge. Our approach adapts to the needs and focus of the learner.
Noticing
Our professionals facilitate perspective taking by helping students consider the bigger pictures or zoom in to find a detail they didn't see before. This observation process is also key to strengthening and generalizing academic skills.
Giving
